Boura Named Vice President for University Advancement and Chief Executive Officer of the University Foundation

Ahmad Boura, MBA, is the Vice President for University Advancement and Chief Executive Officer of the University Foundation at California State University, Chico.

Established in 1887, California State University, Chico is a thriving public comprehensive university. Its charming campus is an aesthetically pleasing mix of classic brick buildings and new structures. Situated on the Sacramento Valley floor 90 miles north of Sacramento, the University is the primary source for public higher education in northeastern California.

Ahmad provides oversight of The University Foundation, including overseeing and growing the endowment, recruiting board members, and building financial strength and strategies. Also, he manages the Offices of Development, Advancement Services, Alumni & Parent Relations, Creative Services, Public Affairs, Publications and Government Relations.

Prior to his appointment, Ahmad served as the Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Morningside College and managed the offices of Alumni Relations, Development and Advancement Services. Morningside College was undertaking the largest fundraising campaign in the college's history, "VISION 2020". The main goal of "VISION 2020" is to raise $50 million dollars from 2010 to 2020 to support the construction of an academic village, renovation of a residential hall and a performing arts theater, grow the endowment and strengthen the annual scholarship fund. Under Ahmad's leadership the Institutional Advancement Division expanded the donor base, increased the alumni participation rate and exceeded the campaign goal with more than $51.8 million secured; five years ahead of schedule. In addition, the Alumni Relations and Development offices were recipients of the 2014 CASE District VI Awards for Alumni Relations and Fundraising best practices.

Prior to his appointment at Morningside College, Ahmad served as the Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Franklin Pierce University, located in Rindge, NH. His responsibilities included management of the offices of Development, Alumni Relations, Advancement Services and University Relations and Creative Services. Prior to that, Ahmad held the positions of Chief Development Officer, Director of Individual Giving and Annual Fund Officer at Franklin Pierce University where he oversaw that institution's wide-ranging fundraising efforts. He developed, managed, and implemented capital campaigns to support the construction of new academic buildings and athletic complex, renovation of existing residence halls, career center, and an athletic training center, doubled the Annual Fund, and supported the endowment.

Before beginning his career in higher education, Ahmad had a successful professional soccer career in Lebanon and in the United States from 1992-2000.

As a native of Beirut, Lebanon, former professional soccer player, and someone who is committed to lifelong learning and a passion for civic responsibility, Ahmad appears frequently in the classroom and in front of affinity groups on college campuses as a guest speaker to discuss subjects related to world affairs, geopolitics, business, athletics, fundraising, stewardship and other topics.
